CAT response services: Nearly 2K containers lost or damaged

A violent storm with gale-force winds and large swells led to an estimated 1,900 containers being lost or damaged on the boxship, ONE Apus, during its voyage from China to Long Beach, California. If the estimated loss is correct, this single incident would exceed the annual average container loss for the whole industry.

The ship is currently reported to be sailing towards Japan to seek a port of refuge.
