Major hailstorms pummeled parts of Texas and Oklahoma last night — damaging homes, businesses and cars. The hail, some the size of baseballs, came from a line of severe storms that also triggered tornado warnings and caused flooding in Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Heavily populated areas, including Norman, Oklahoma, along with communities in Texas around Fort Worth and San Antonio, were impacted the most.
Overall, the Storm Prediction Center recorded five tornado reports, 99 reports of hail, and numerous strong wind reports from the severe thunderstorm and convective weather outbreaks yesterday evening and last night. While still early, some industry meteorologists have been discussing the potential for the costs to reach over $1 billion.
