Andrew Caldwell

Forensic Engineer

Mr. Caldwell has over twenty-five combined years of Fire Service, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering and Fire Protection Engineering experience. He has been involved in fire and forensic engineering investigations for EFI Global/ Unified Investigations and Sciences, Inc. since January 2016. From 2011 to 2016, Mr. Caldwell spent four years involved in the oversight of all aspects of the fire protection program at a nuclear fuel facility including system inspection, testing and maintenance; fire investigations; computer fire modeling; impairments/countermeasures; Clean Air Act permitting, and integrated safety analysis for all areas and processes of the plant. Prior to this experience, Mr. Caldwell served in various roles in the fire service including company officer, training officer, hazmat team leader, TEMA Hazmat Specialist, firefighter and structural specialist.   Mr. Caldwell worked on a variety of consulting environmental engineering projects including environmental site assessments, geological studies, geotechnical projects, footing inspection, caisson inspections, underground storage tank projects, environmental remediation projects, and landfill expansion projects.

Mr. Caldwell has a Master of Fire Protection Engineering degree from the University of Maryland. Also, Mr. Caldwell has a Master of Science degree in Fire and Emergency Management Administration from Oklahoma State University and Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. Mr. Caldwell is a Certified Hazardous Material Manager through IHMM. Mr. Caldwell is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist through NFPA. Mr. Caldwell has a wide range of fire service certifications and licenses.

Mr. Caldwell was an adjunct faculty instructor of Fire Science at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee. He taught courses involving Building Construction, Fire Protection Systems, Fire Administration, and Emergency Management. Additionally, Mr. Caldwell was an adjunct instructor at the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. He taught courses pertaining to Building Construction, Basic Firefighting, Hazmat Emergencies, Utilities Emergencies, Fire Officer, Safety and Firefighter Rapid Intervention.
