Fire Investigator

Miss Vander Berg started her career in the fire service in 2007 as a Volunteer firefighter for White Hall Fire Department, while she attended Eastern Kentucky University where she studied Fire & Safety Engineering Technology. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelors of Science focusing in Fire, Arson and Explosion Investigations.

In 2007, she attended the National Association of Fire Investigators seminar at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, where she was tested and certified as a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator, CFEI and Certified Fire Investigator Instructor, CFII. That same year, she attended the National Association of Fire Investigators seminar in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was tested and certified as a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, CVFI.

Miss Vander Berg worked as a Fire Investigator for Phoenix Investigations in Colorado as a vendor for various insurance companies conducting on-site investigations of fire/explosion incidents to determine origin and cause. In 2010, she joined Timberline Fire Authority in Colorado as a volunteer firefighter and fire investigator. During this time Miss Vander Berg completed the Fire Academy and attended seminars for Wildland Fire Investigations courses FI-110 and FI-210.

Miss Vander Berg joined Travelers Fire Team in 2012 as a Fire Investigator in New Jersey conducting on-site investigations of fire/explosion incidents to determine origin and cause. She was later transferred to Virginia continuing the same role. While in VA she promoted to Fire Vendor Manager where she coached and mentored contracted vendor fire investigators. While holding this position she was transferred to Colorado.

In 2018, Miss Vander Berg came aboard the Sedgwick Team as a Fire Investigator in Colorado where she will conduct on-site investigations of fire/explosion incidents to determine origin and cause.
