Mr. Pinder has over 28 years of professional fire service experience. During this time he has held several roles including: Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, SCBA Technician, Lieutenant in Fire Suppression, and Lieutenant in Marine Division, Hazardous Material Technician, and Fire/Explosion Investigator. Duties performed during these roles included: Pre-incident planning, fire code inspections, fire suppression, team leader, lead instructor, vehicle and vessel maintenance, fire cause and origin determination. He also has experience in building construction, natural gas and propane services.
Mr. Pinder is a Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) through the International Association of Arson Investigators, and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (NAFI-CFEI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He is a Licensed Private Investigator in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. He is also licensed in Natural Gas and Propane Delivery, Installation, and Appliance Service through the State of Maine.
Mr. Pinder has an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Fire Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from Kaplan University. He has also attended the National Fire Academy and completed courses in Fire / Arson Origin and Cause Investigations, Interview, Interrogation Techniques and Courtroom Testimony, Forensic Evidence Collection, and Practical Application of Fire Dynamics and Modeling. He has completed numerous educational seminars and continued education courses in the field of fire investigation.
Mr. Pinder has professional affiliations with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). He has held seat as: Board of Director, Vice-President, and President of the Maine Chapter of International Association of Arson Investigators. He has been locally recognized for his efforts by receiving the Firefighter of the Year Award, Administrative Service Award, Esprit de Corps Award, Community Service Award, and Officer of the Year Award from the City of Portland.
