Germany
Robert started his career completing an apprenticeship as a car body maker followed by a year working in various BMW plants before studying electrical engineering. He then switched to the materials engineering program at University of Applied Sciences Jena where he focused on metallic materials, glass, plastics and composites, and eventually completed his studies with a bachelor’s thesis at Daimler AG in Sindelfingen, Germany (focusing on the inductive heat treatment of ultra-high-strength steels). After graduating, he held the position of project engineer at a leading specialist company in the areas of testing, inspection and certification of building materials and building products. Robert’s responsibilities included auditing building material manufacturers, testing building materials and carrying out structural inspections. He now works for Sedgwick as a loss adjuster.
