Bangkok flooding following torrential rain

We are closely monitoring the situation in Bangkok as the flood waters from nearly 300mm of rain in 48 hours start to recede.

Many neighbourhoods across the city have been affected with some areas difficult to access due to transport disruption. The BMA’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Directorate has declared all 50 districts disaster areas and thousands of people are using temporary shelters. Residents are being warned of potential flash flooding as water flows in from surrounding areas with isolated heavy rain storms predicted in the coming days.
