More rounds of dangerous thunderstorms are on the way for millions of people across the U.S., from the South and Midwest to Northeast. These new storms come after severe weather already hit states including Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and Arkansas earlier in the week. Storms in Pennsylvania brought wind gusts of up to 90 mph and knocked down trees Tuesday night, leaving hundreds of thousands without power. There were four confirmed tornadoes in Oklahoma and Missouri. Texas and Oklahoma received record-breaking rainfall and, along with Arkansas and Missouri, now face the risk of more rain and life-threatening flash flooding.
Thunderstorms today could bring damaging winds of up to 70 mph, with large hail and potential tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service. Multiple rounds of rain are expected for the next several days, extending into the weekend.
