Evri graduated from the Merchant Marine Institute in Jakarta in 1999 with an engineering major. After graduation, he worked as an engineer on oceangoing vessels. In 2002, he became a project and service engineer, gaining experience in dealing with diesel engines, dual fuel engines and gas engines. He also spent time as a marine manager at an international adjusting and consultancy company, handling cargo claims – particularly those relating to power plants and industrial machinery such as generators, turbines and compressors.
