Tropical Cyclone Fina is tracking towards the Northern Territory coastline. Currently a Category One system, it is forecast to intensify to Category Two on Friday, with the possibility of reaching Category Three late Friday or into Saturday morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a cyclone warning for Darwin, with the Tiwi Islands and parts of western Arnhem Land also within the warning area. Communities from Wadeye to the Daly River mouth are now under a cyclone watch.
