Romen has over 30 years in marine engineering, starting his career in the US Navy, as a nuclear Machinist’s Mate. He went on to attend the California Maritime Academy to earn a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, receiving a commission in the Navy and then earning a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
After a short time in training, Romen transitioned out of the navy and became an Assistant Professor at the California Maritime Academy, in the Engineering Technology department. Romen then transitioned to become a Port Engineer at Foss Maritime Company, both in Seattle and Long Beach.
In 2012, Romen made the transition to Marine Surveying, with Noble Denton, followed by Braemar / ABL and in January, he started at Sedgwick as a Senior National Marine Surveyor, based out of the Seattle area.
