With extensive experience managing high performing teams, he has led major engineering, repair, and newbuild projects across the cruise, superyacht, and commercial shipping sectors. A Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, John combines deep technical expertise with strategic project leadership.
From 2019 to 2021, he served as Chairman of the Association of Average Adjusters of the United States and Canada, reflecting his standing as a respected authority in maritime claims matters. John continues to lead high stakes investigations into significant maritime casualties on behalf of insurers, ship owners, and equipment manufacturers, delivering clear, defensible expert insight in complex disputes.
He is a trusted partner to investment clients, overseeing technical due diligence for major M&A transactions and evaluating engineering risk in maritime assets. Earlier in his career, John sailed as a Chief Engineer, gaining hands on experience in ship operations, maintenance, and then ashore in engineering management.
