Torsten began his career pursuing an electrician apprenticeship, followed by self-employment as a service provider (including sales and installation of prefabricated houses, kitchen delivery and installation of various manufacturers, property management, installation of exclusive floor coverings Europe-wide and the renovation of buildings in Switzerland and Austria). Torsten was a framework contract partner of multiple German federal disaster response organizations and a contract partner of various insurers for nationwide insurance claims. He then established a settlement office for property and liability damages where he was a contract partner of several claims management providers. He also founded two non-profit associations. In 2019, Torsten gave up self-employment for personal reasons and began working for a major insurance company as an insurance claims adjuster. Since joining Sedgwick in April 2023, Torsten has held the role of claims controller and is a part of the major and complex loss division.
