Sedgwicka leading global provider of claims management, loss adjusting, and technology-enabled business solutions announced the addition of Andrea Phinney, B.A., CIP, AIC as an Executive General Adjuster on the national Major & Complex Loss (MCL) team within its
Canadian operations. 

Phinney has over 25 years of experience as an adjuster across all lines of business. She has developed deep expertise in handling complex claims across diverse service lines, including commercial Property, business interruption, construction defect, and various liability coverages. Her expertise includes managing high-stakes losses such as product recall, medical malpractice, and catastrophe events, with a strong emphasis on litigation and national account management. She has supported clients across a wide range of industries—from hospitality and healthcare to public entities and transportation—demonstrating a consistent ability to navigate intricate claims in both residential and commercial.

With designations as a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) awarded by the Insurance Institute of Canada, Phinney brings a high level of professionalism, technical expertise, and industry insight to every aspect of her work and support of clients.

Phinney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate from Queen’s University, and serves as an Instructor at the Insurance Institute of Canada. She is also a past President of the Canadian Insurance Claims Managers Association, Maritimes.
