Millions are without power as Tropical Storm Helene moves through the southeastern U.S., bringing heavy rainfall, severe flooding, damaging winds and some tornadoes. Helene made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, and the National Weather Service recorded storm surge of 10 feet in some areas late Thursday, while other areas are expected to show record peaks of 15 to 20 feet.

Helene has weakened to a tropical storm but is still causing widespread impacts as it travels through Georgia and toward the Carolinas and southern Virginia. As the storm progresses across the Southeast, Helene is expected to cause severe flooding, dangerous landslides and catastrophic damage.
