James McIntosh

James is Head of Sedgwick’s Building Consultancy division, bringing extensive expertise in the building industry, particularly home warranty insurance, forensic investigations and building defects. His experience spans forensic building inspections, scoping, auditing, project management, cost estimating, compliance and catastrophe response. James has successfully mediated outcomes for thousands of building defects, working with builders, developers, body corporates, experts and legal firms to achieve fair and accurate resolutions. He has also co-designed and implemented an innovative home warranty consumer protection model, established a specialist remedial panel for defect rectification, and led the recruitment and development of multidisciplinary building professionals. He leads a national forensic investigations team delivering assessment, scoping, tendering, supplier and construction management services across Australia.
