Regional Director
Alwyn has more than 25 years’ experience managing complex losses across airlines, general aviation and helicopter operations.
He qualified as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer in 1982, with experience across piston, turboprop and jet aircraft, as well as helicopters. He went on to hold senior roles within general aviation and regional airlines before joining Bombardier in 1986 as a Field Service Manager, responsible for product support.
Building on this technical and operational background, Alwyn moved into the insurance sector in 1992, joining an aviation insurer to help establish an in-house survey capability. He later joined Charles Taylor in 1997, where he led major airline investigations and conducted risk surveys worldwide. Alwyn spent 16 years managing operations in the Middle East before joining Sedgwick’s aviation team in December 2023. Now based in Dubai, he continues to oversee activities across the region.
He also holds a commercial pilot’s licence with instrument, multi-engine, seaplane and instructor ratings.
