Two powerful windstorms have left northern and central Europe reeling since last week. Storm Eunice made landfall on Friday on the heels of destruction, bringing 100 mph winds to some areas.

Both storms unleashed powerful winds and driving rain from Ireland to central parts of the continent — downing trees, causing flying debris, knocking out power for tens of thousands, and even ripping open the roof of a major London arena.

Warnings for wind remain in effect across Northern Ireland and the UK through Monday, due to the next potent storm forecasted to sweep across the region and into Europe. Forecasters say this latest storm will further hinder clean-up efforts and could lead to new damage in some communities.
