Behavioral health solutions that put employers’ minds at ease
Challenge
A large banking institution saw an increase in employee absences associated with mental health struggles. The company sought to help employees promptly access appropriate care and support services, enabling them to safely resume productivity at work and a better quality of life.
Solution
The employer implemented a program whereby a Sedgwick clinical behavioral health specialist reaches out to every employee reporting a short-term disability leave with a mental health issue as their primary diagnosis. With an emphasis on engagement early in the claim process, the clinician plays an active, consultative and supportive role regarding the employee’s condition, symptoms, treatment plan, available benefits through an employee assistance program (EAP) and plan for transitioning back to work.
