O’Dea will have responsibility for cultivating Sedgwick’s profile and presence in Australia by establishing strategic partnerships that deliver tangible value and outcomes. His appointment is part of a broader effort by Sedgwick to enhance its productivity and benefits service offerings in international markets.
O’Dea has vast experience in the workers’ compensation and personal injury sector, having spent the past 25 years in various board and executive leadership roles in the sector. He has a highly sophisticated understanding of personal injury and social insurance schemes and is deeply passionate about a holistic, “people-first” approach case management that supports employee recovery and sustainable return to work.
Sedgwick is a recognized leader in the American absence management and workers’ compensation space. The expansion of services in Australia is aligned with Sedgwick’s recent acquisition of Direct Health Solutions (DHS), a leading specialist provider of employer-based telehealth solutions. In addition to leveraging DHS’s experience in the market, Sedgwick in Australia will be developing international injury management, employee productivity and workers’ compensation offerings with the support of its global resources.
